The eGovernments Foundation (eGov or The Foundation) is one of India’s premiere organisations that assists and enables Urban Local Bodies (ULB’s) in their eGovernance implementation. A registered non-profit trust, eGov currently operates the eGovernance of 73 ULB’s including The Municipal Corporations of New Delhi, Bangalore, Vishakapatnam, Mysore, Chennai (expected shortly) to name just a few. Our cutting edge, easy-to-use and scalable technology based solutions has seen the consolidation, transparency and increase (in some cases by over 300%) of revenues in Category A, B and C cities and towns as identified by the Government of India / NURM specified directives.
Our Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model is to implement our technology solutions for e-governance applications in municipal geographies and set them on an evolutionary path for further implementation. We have sufficient data on the successes and benefits of our solution. Our operations as a registered NGO commenced in 2003 and we look forward to working with city officials and associated implementing agencies. Our services will include co-ordinating between citizen forums and Central / International Development Agencies to fund and implement our free-to-use Solution for the improvement of urban civic services to the poor.
The eGovernments Foundation was started in February 2003 by Nandan Nilekani, CEO Infosys & Srikanth Nadhamuni a career-technologist with a goal of creating an eGovernance system that would enable ULBs (Urban Local Bodies) to better deliver services to their citizens. The Foundation has put together a Tier of experienced professionals to develop and implement the free-to-use eGov Suite of Municipal Solutions for better governance of towns and cities.
The eGovernments Foundation has also contributed to various policy initiatives including NURM (National Urban Renewal Mission) and the NKC (National Knowledge Commission) in the area of municipal e-governance. As part of this initiative, the Foundation co-authored the National e-governance Strategy paper submitted by the NKC to the Prime Minister and worked with the ARC (Administrative Reforms Commission) to develop an IT framework for the implementation of the NREGS (National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme). eGov is also a technology services provider to institutions including Delhi Transco Limited, Arghyam and Akshara. |
